Below you will find various selling and safety tips to ensure that you can “Complete The Sheet” and any selling goals that you may have set for your self. “Cold Call” selling by going door to door will provide you with important life skills, and enable you and your troop to finance your Scouting Adventures.

Scouts should collect all monies (payable to their Troop) for each pen sold at the time of sale or shortly afterward. Pens will only be shipped for orders paid in full.

Always BE PREPARED. Make sure that you have downloaded plenty of order forms and that your sell sheets are not tattered and torn.

Carry a good clip board for your order sheets and make sure that you bring more than one pen.

ALWAYS wear your uniform and smile and introduce yourself when approaching people. Explain to them why your troop is raising money.

Be Courtous at all times. Always thank the person, either for buying from you or for their time.

Sell to your Family and Friends, Former Scouts, Customers that have purchased other items from you in past fundraisers, Neighbors. Have your parents bring an order sheet and color brochure to their place of employment/ business.

You can sell Door to Door, send out an email, sell at local town events and small or large gatherings, set up a table/booth at local grocery store or fire department with your Troop.

Throw a pancake breakfast, or spagatti dinner, and take orders for the pen or have your Scoutmaster order some in bulk and sell them on site.

Be Alert! Never sell after dark unless accompanied by an adult, stick to well lit walkways, and dont carry alot of cash with you.

Work in teams, and never enter anyone’s home.
